Getting a Mississippi Medical Marijuana Card

On 3 November 2020, Mississippi voted to establish a medical marijuana program by approving Initiative 65. 74% of voters in Mississippi supported the move to allow people suffering from one of 22 qualifying medical conditions to be prescribed up to 5 oz of marijuana per month.

The medical marijuana program is not currently operational. As Initiative 65 states, by July 2021, the Mississippi Department of Health must have finalized rules surrounding the marijuana program ( marijuana cards, dispensaries, , “growth facilities”, tracking practices, food labeling, ads, etc.). In Mississippi, dispensaries are called Treatment centers. Mississippi is expected to start issuing Treatment Center (dispensary)  licenses for Mississippi Medical Marijuana cardholders by August 2021. My Marijuana Card anticipates the approval will be available as quickly as possible.
