The Ohio Medical Board tabled a vote on adding anxiety and autism spectrum disorder to the list of conditions qualifying for medical marijuana treatment in the Buckeye State, serving a critical blow to patients medical marijuana businesses as their approval would have sparked new opportunities for economic growth.
The Board President announced the delay Wednesday, June 12, saying they were pushing it back to give two new board members time to consider related information and reports.
A physicians panel recommended adding anxiety and autism to the list of 21 treatable conditions last month.
The board voted against adding opioid use disorder, depression and insomnia as qualifying conditions under a medical panel’s recommendation, despite the fact that autism is one of most widely listed treatable conditions in medical marijuana states.
