Students studying Cannabis Chemistry at Lake Superior University are now eligible for a $1,200 scholarship from Michigan cannabis testing lab, Steadfast Labs. Michigan Cannabis Chemistry Degree Program
The Cannabis Chemistry program at Lake Lake Superior University launched in 2019, within the school’s Cannabis Center of Excellence. The cannabis chemistry program is aimed at helping students prepare for careers in formulation and process development, quality assurance chemists, clinical chemists, and food safety positions. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA or higher and have sophomore status. Priority will be given to students who reside in Wayne or Oakland counties, due to the location of Steadfast Labs.

When the program was just getting started in 2019, members from Steadfast Labs toured the facility and gave guest lectures to students. Fast forward to 2021, Steadfast labs have continued to show their support to future cannabis industry employees by offering them a $1,200 scholarship. The scholarship will help make the program even more affordable to students looking to pursue careers in cannabis chemistry. Avram Zallen, founder and CEO of Steadfast Labs told CNN in an interview that the company believes that “education of the consumer and within the industry is the key to raising the level of safety and integrity. ”
